The drives are mounted in drive carriers to simplify their installation and removal

from the chassis. These carriers also help promote proper airow in the drive

bays.

Installing a Drive into the Hard Drive Carrier

Remove the two screws securing the dummy drive to the drive carrier.1.

Lift the dummy drive up and out of the carrier.2.

Warning: Except for short periods of time (swapping hard

drives), do not operate the server with the carriers abscent.
